On November 1, 2023, Divert NS hosted the 23rd annual Mobius Awards of Environmental Excellence Gala at the Halifax Convention Centre to recognize and celebrate Nova Scotia’s environmental champions. This event brought together Nova Scotia’s environmental elite from businesses, government, organizations, and communities across the province. 

We are proud to celebrate the seven winners leading the charge in waste reduction and environmental action in Nova Scotia.

Keynote speaker, Anthony Morgan at Mobius Awards

Keynote Speaker, Anthony Morgan

Named one of CBC's top 20 millennial change-makers, Anthony Morgan is an award-winning science communicator, Ph.D. researcher, startup founder and game designer. He’s also the new co-host of The Nature of Things on CBC Television. He's obsessed with changing how people see, think and talk about science in their everyday lives. He's spent close to 20 years finding ways to do just that. He's worked at the Ontario Science Centre with Asap SCIENCE, written for newspapers, hosted CBC Radio, collaborated with municipal governments and serves on the steering committee of the misinformation-tackling Science Up First.

2023 Mobius Award Winners

On November 1, 2023, we hosted the 23rd Mobius Awards of Environmental Excellence, bringing together Nova Scotia’s environmental elite. We are proud to celebrate the following seven winners leading the charge in waste reduction and environmental action in Nova Scotia.

2022 Mobius Award Winners

The 22nd annual Mobius Awards of Environmental Excellence was held on November 1, 2022 at the Halifax Convention Centre. The event keynote speaker, Sarain Fox, a Canadian Anishinaabe activist, broadcaster and filmmaker.

2021 Mobius Award Champions

In 2021, the Mobius Awards presented a celebration of Champions who, despite a global pandemic, never gave up on their environmental actions and even took on new waste-reducing initiatives and habits.

2020 Mobius Award Champions

In 2020, Divert NS took a look back at 21 inspirational past champions, and recognizing their continued commitments to diverting waste from landfill and making our province a more beautiful, sustainable place.

2019 Mobius Award Winners

The 21st annual Mobius Awards of Environmental Excellence was held on October 30, 2019 at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel. The event featured keynote speaker, Andrew Isaac Thornton, an entrepreneur and owner of Thornton’s Budgens supermarket in the U.K.

2018 Mobius Award Winners

Divert NS hosted the 20th annual Mobius Awards of Environmental Excellence on October 25, 2018 at the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market. The event featured Joshua Becker as keynote speaker.

2017 Mobius Award Winners

The 19th annual Mobius Awards of Environmental Excellence was held on October 24, 2017 at the Halifax Harbourfront Marriott. The event featured Adam Minter as keynote speaker.
