Divert NS hosted the 21st annual Mobius Awards of Environmental Excellence on October 30, 2019 at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel. The event keynote speaker, Andrew Isaac Thornton, an entrepreneur and owner of Thornton’s Budgens supermarket in the U.K. The following seven winners took home the 2019 Mobius Awards of Environmental Excellence.

This year’s Community Project of the Year started as a parking lot market, and has now become a healthy, vibrant, community marketplace. The Wolfville Farmer’s Market currently houses over 65 farmers, chefs and artisans in their year-round, 9,000 square foot market. When their waste became a problem, they decided to tackle it head on.
