Congratulations to the 2026 Depot of the Year Winners!
To mark 30 years of Enviro-Depots, seven depots from across Nova Scotia's solid waste regions have been recognized as 2026 Enviro-Depot™ of the Year winners.
More than 900 nominations were submitted by Nova Scotians, highlighting exceptional customer service, community leadership, dedication, and care.
Thank you to all depot owners and staff for three decades of helping keep Nova Scotia clean and sustainable.
Region 1 Winner: Glace Bay Recycling
Glace Bay Recycling, located in Cape Breton, has earned this award for its exceptional and consistent customer service, dedicated team, and a strong sense of community. Customers praised the staff's friendliness, teamwork, and commitment to making every visit efficient, welcoming, and enjoyable, creating a positive recycling experience for all.

Region 2 Winner: A&M Recycling
Based in Tracadie, A&M Recycling is recognized for their friendly, genuine, and trustworthy team that creates a welcoming and warm experience for every customer. They go the extra mile to ensure customers feel welcome and valued while demonstrating an outstanding commitment to giving back and strengthening their community.

Region 3 Winner: Keep Garbage Beneficial
Keep Garbage Beneficial, located in Pugwash, has earned this award for its knowledgeable, customer-focused service and dedication to promoting recycling within the community. Staff go above and beyond to educate and support customers, making recycling easier, more effective, and more rewarding for everyone they serve.

Region 4 Winner: Matt’s Bottle Exchange
Based in Eastern Passage, Matt's Bottle Exchange is well regarded for its exceptional customer service, dedicated team, and commitment to community support. Customers highlighted the staff's professionalism, kindness, efficiency, and willingness to help, while the depot's ongoing involvement in local schools and sports initiatives demonstrates a genuine commitment to making a positive difference in the community.

Region 5 Winner: Beehive Adult Service Centre
The Beehive, located in the Annapolis Valley, is recognized for its exceptional commitment to inclusion, community, and environmental responsibility. By providing meaningful employment opportunities, fostering a welcoming atmosphere, and treating every individual with respect and dignity, Beehive demonstrates the positive impact a depot can have both within and beyond its community.

Region 6 Winner: O’Leary’s Enviro-Depot
Based in Windsor, O'Leary's is recognized for its exceptional community support, generosity, and customer service. Reviewers consistently highlighted the depot's leadership in fundraising efforts and support for individuals and families facing hardship. This combined with a clean, efficient operation and welcoming staff demonstrates a genuine commitment to making a difference both through recycling and through its dedicated support of the community.

Region 7 Winner: Paperchase Bottle Exchange

A customer favourite, W. O’Leary’s Recycling Depot is the winner of the Large Enviro-Depot of the Year for going above and beyond when it comes to fundraising and supporting their community, raising thousands of dollars each year for local groups and charities.
2024 Small Enviro-Depot™ of the Year: Carleton Road Bottle Exchange
2024 Small Enviro-Depot of the Year, Carleton Road Bottle Exchange has been praised for removing barriers for adults with intellectual disabilities by providing them with learning and career opportunities in Nova Scotia’s recycling and waste reduction landscape.
2023 Large Enviro-Depot™ of the Year: New Minas Recycling
2023 Large Enviro-Depot of the Year, New Minas Recycling has worked very hard over the past year renovating their location with the customer in mind. By creating an accessible and safe space for their community, New Minas has provided an exceptional and positive experience for customers.
2023 Small Depot of the Year: Eastern Shore Cartage
A customer favourite, Eastern Shore Cartage, is the winner of the Small Enviro-Depot category. Praised for their friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff, they are a staple in their
community, supporting fundraising efforts and always providing “service with a smile.”
2022 Small Depot of the Year: TNT Recycling
TNT Recycling is the winner of the 2022 Small Depot of the Year and were recognized for their fast and clean recycling services. Celebrated for treating their employees “like gold,” TNT Recycling also goes above and beyond to service customers with “good manners” and are “always happy to see their customers.”
2022 Large Depot of the Year: Paper Chase Bottle Exchange
Paper Chase Bottle Exchange was awarded the 2022 Large Depot of the Year for being efficient, tidy, and easily accessible to their community. It is clear from the nominations that their staff do everything possible to ensure a great recycling experience.
2021 Small Depot of the Year: Queens Enviro Center
Queens Enviro Center has been awarded Small Enviro-Depot™ of the Year for their phenomenal customer service, immaculate depot, and community efforts.
2021 Large Depot of the Year: Greenwood Recycling Centre
Large Enviro-Depot™ of the Year is awarded to Greenwood Recycling Centre, a family-owned drop off centre that has been serving their community since 1997. On top of recycling beverage containers, they also accept used clothing, electronics, batteries, and more.
