This summer, 40 youth aged 11–14 joined the first Divert NS Ocean Action Camp with the Discovery Centre in Halifax and Truro. Over five days, they explored upcycling, ocean acidification, and microplastics through hands-on labs and shoreline cleanups—emerging as young ocean champions. Learn more here.

Oberland is a Halifax company that turns organic waste into insect feed, using it to sustainably raise black soldier fly larvae for animal and soil nutrition.

Since 2017, Divert NS has awarded scholarships to 55 Grade 12 students for their environmental leadership. We recently caught up with two past winners to see where they are now.
