Divert NS is currently seeking two highly motivated team players to join our Warehouse Team for the upcoming busy summer season. Both positions are ideal for students enrolling in, or returning to, post-secondary studies in the fall. Working at our Processing/Warehouse Facility in Kemptown, Colchester County, you will have an integral role in managing materials collected under the Nova Scotia Deposit-Refund and Used Paint Programs. You’ll assist with receiving, storage, processing/baling, and shipping activities while supporting our province-wide Enviro-Depot™ Network. Term: Three (3) months – June through August
Hours: 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday
Wage: $16.47 per hour
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with off-loading of program materials from docked trailers;
- Assist with certain UBC processing activities;
- Sort certain UBC container types;
- Prepare and assist with loading of supplies for Enviro-Depot™ Network;
- Use of electronic scanners during off-loading/loading;
- Complete required daily paperwork and certain other record keeping duties as needed;
- Assist with general cleanup requirements of the warehouse and yard;
- Help to maintain a safe and healthy work environment; and
- Perform other duties as required by supervisors.
Qualifications/Assets:
- Good communications skills – key for interacting in a team setting and with outside contractors;
- Good organizational skills – relevant to the operation of an efficient warehouse;
- Must have a valid driver’s license;
- Must have safety shoes – other personal protective equipment (PPE) is supplied;
- Capable of performing basic maintenance checks on equipment, e.g. forklift;
- Able to lift and/or drag items weighing up to 75 pounds*;
- Experience working in a warehouse environment would be considered an asset; and
- WHIMS, First Aid and Forklift Operator Certificates would be considered assets – training during employment term may be offered and/or required.
