Paper

Collected every 2 weeks on your regular collection day.

-Use see-through blue bags
-Maximum # that will be collected is 8 (recycling bags + garbage bags = no more than 8)
-Maximun weight per bag is 15kg
-Paper and recyclable containers belong in separate recycling bags
Paper and Corrugated Cardboard:
If cardboard can't fit inside your blue recycling bag, flatten and bundle to 3ft. x 2ft. x 1ft.

Hardcovers from books must be removed. Loose covers go in paper blue bag. Please DO NOT place Needles, Lancets or Syringes in your Paper Blue Bag.
Recyclables

Blue Bag Recyclables:
Put in see-through blue bag. Please rinse containers and remove caps

No caps, needles, lancets or syringes. Labels do not need to be removed. Remove receipts from shopping bags. Shopping bags can be stuffed into each other, all other items must be loose in the blue bag.
All deposit bearing containers can be returned to Enviro-Depot™ locations for refund. Click here to find a location near you.
Organics

Collected every 2 weeks on your regular collection day.

-Cart and content must not exceed 100kg
-Do not overfill cart - the lid must be able to close
-PLEASE no plastic, metal or glass.
Place the following items in your organics green cart


Food Waste:
  • Fruit & vegetable peelings, Table Scraps, Meat, Bones, Shellfish, including shells, Fish, Rice, Pasta, Coffee Grounds, Coffee Filters, Tea Bags, Eggshells, Dairy Products, Cooking Oil & Fat (cool, wipe with paper towel, place in green cart), Bread

Yard Waste:
  • Excess leaves, Brush and Plants

Soiled Paper:
  • Cereal Boxes (remove inner liner), Cracker & Cookie Boxes, Paper Plates, Wax Paper/Cardboard, Food Napkins, Paper Towels, Sugar, Flour and Potato Bags, Fast Food Wrappers (paper), Pizza Boxes, Carbon Paper

Other: Hair, Certified "Compostable" Bags, Sawdust, Shavings and Wood Chips
Not for organics bin:
  • No ashes

  • No plastic bags (including biodegradable)

  • No glass

  • No decorations or wire wreaths

  • No newspapers, magazines

  • No paper or Styrofoam drinking cups

  • No rocks, logs or tree trunks

  • No soil/sods

Brush: Up to two bundles of brush placed next to the green cart are permitted per collection. Bundles should not measure larger than 4ft x 2ft.
Garbage

Collected every 2 weeks on your regular collection day

-Use clear bags
-Maximum # of bags that will be collected is 4
-One of the 4 bags may be a solid coloured bag for personal items
-Maximum weight per bag is 15kg
-Use standard size clear bags (not larger than 39 inches when flat)
-Large or bulky items are collected during Spring/Fall Cleanup
