Student Research Grants Featured Project: Evaluating the Feasibility of Composting Waxed Paper Products

Under the direction of Paul Arnold, Assistant Professor, Acadia University’s Ivan Curry School of Engineering was awarded a grant to study the impact of composting waxed paper products on the process and quality of compost. As many municipalities do not accept waxed corrugated cardboard in the organics stream, this study has the potential to significantly divert this material from landfills if a successful solution is found.
