Overview
Since electronics are full of precious resources like glass, gold, silver and copper, recycling your end-of-life electronics is the most environmentally conscious thing to do.
Your Role
Electronics are expensive and passing them onto someone in need (if they are still functioning) is a great option to consider. Before recycling electronics, consider donating them to family members, community groups, friends, or local charities like the Computers for Schools Program, or selling them through classified ads, a garage sale, or via online buy and sell sites. Visit Recycle My Electronics for practical tips on how to secure your data and protect your privacy if you're considering recycling or donating your electronics.
If your electronic product has reached its end-of-useful life, you can recycle it free of charge through Recycle My Electronics. Collection sites include many Enviro Depots and return to retail locations.
Many of the resources in our electronics, including plastic, glass, gold, silver, copper, and palladium can be reused continuously without losing their properties.
