About Divert NS
Divert NS is a not-for-profit corporation working in partnership with Nova Scotians to improve the province’s environment and economy through recycling and waste diversion. For over 20 years, we have helped grow a culture of recycling in our province. Today, recycling is second nature to Nova Scotians and our province is recognized as a leader in waste diversion. Divert NS administers two core programs: beverage container and tire recycling. We work with government, industry and academia to divert waste from landfill; deliver education and awareness programs; work collaboratively to implement stewardship agreements; fund research and development; and promote innovation through value-added manufacturing. Over 70% of net revenue goes back to municipalities around the province to support curbside collections and help Nova Scotians reduce, reuse, and recycle.
